Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon appoints new Executive Chef

Yangon, Myanmar, 18 November 2022 – The Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon recently announced the appointment of Aung Kyaw Myo “Morris” as the new executive chef. In his new role, Chef Morris will oversee the culinary direction of the hotel, including the popular The Emporia Restaurant, Lobby Lounge, the banqueting operations and in-room dining.

Chef Morris has over 20 years of experience working at top hotels in Myanmar and Dubai. He began his career in the culinary world in 1999 as a Commis chef at the five-star Sedona Hotel in Yangon, where he learned the kitchen basics. In 2002, he moved to Dubai to work on the pre-opening team at the Emirates Harbour Hotel, owned by the airline, and now rebranded as the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites.

His other jobs in the Middle East included the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach, the Al Shalal Beach Club at the iconic Palm Jumeirah, the landmark luxury hotel Jumeirah Emirates Towers in the heart of Dubai’s financial district, and the Markette and Social House restaurants in the world largest shopping mall, The Dubai Mall.

Before joining Chatrium Yangon, he was the chef de cuisine at The Noodle House in Souk Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, serving authentic Asian dishes with a contemporary twist.
