Chatuchak Weekend Market is where you can truly experience the truth of the phrase ‘shop till you drop’. It is the largest market in Thailand and has more than 8,000 market stalls selling just about everything you will ever need, no matter how specific.
If you’re looking to buy an antique wooden chest, some exotic art, a pair of vintage Levi’s jeans or a python (because, why not?) then Chatuchak is the place to go. The sheer variety of goods, including immense selections of clothing items, accessories, handicrafts, artwork, books, antiques, furniture and home décor, plants and gardening tools and even pets, is incredible.
The market occupies 35 acres of land and is divided into sections based on the type of items sold making it rather easy to navigate and maps are freely available to visitors!
